Individual membership of BCS demonstrates your commitment to both your own and the IT community's professional development. BCS membership sets you apart from other IT practitioners, giving you industry recognition of your skills and experience levels. You can join BCS at a grade that is appropriate for you on a pathway that leads to Chartered IT Professional status (CITP).

 

BCS continues to invest heavily in developing and delivering effective member services in order to improve opportunities for IT practitioners to take advantage of our cutting edge career recognition tools, professional development advice, networking avenues and extensive knowledge services.

 

Additionally, the BCS is working with over 100 organisations implementing Group Membership schemes whereby BCS membership is awarded to IT professionals by their employer as a staff benefit.

 

Qualifications and Training

 

Professional qualifications have never been more important. Potential employers seek well qualified candidates and expect them to demonstrate clear commitment to their professional development, required to maintain and develop their knowledge and skills. Higher education accreditation of under/post-graduate courses are conducted by BCS every academic year.

 

BCS sets the standards that employers demand and respect; its IT qualifications are the leaders in their field and span three qualification user levels:  

 

1.   Professional qualifications for IT practitioners who want to get ahead in IT:

    · BCS Professional Examinations for those who wish to study IT academically with an option to study to honours degree standard  

2.   Home/Office level courses to help those who are getting to grips with computers become more effective in their jobs or help them find better jobs!

3.   Beginner level courses for those who are getting started and have never used computers before.
